Today, more than ever, individuals and families are confronted by a world full of stress and challenges, any one of which can spark the need to seek therapy.

I provide Counseling & Support Therapy to Individuals, Couples, Families, Children, Teens, & Survivors of Abuse in a Confidential & Professional manner.

Individuals

As an attachment &  relationally focused therapist I believe that effective therapy is based on a solid and secure therapeutic alliance. As such, the importance of finding the “right” therapist for you is paramount. I aim to create relationships with clients that are strengths based, collaborative, authentic & attuned so that we can focus our work on helping you find your own unique truth, answers & path forward.

Couples & Families

Couples often struggle with balancing work & home life, self-care, communication, & differences in discipline & parenting skills. Blended & adoptive families, intergenerational living situations & single parenting can create added stress. Families struggling can benefit greatly from working with a licensed therapist who may focus on individual issues or the family as a system.

Children

Children’s therapy may be appropriate if parents notice behavior issues or a difference in mood or demeanor in their child. These cues may indicate an issue with school, friends or within the family as young children often do not have the language to explain their feelings. Additionally, many parents have concerns about autism, ADHD, attachment disorders &  more. Therapy can help these parents identify a diagnosis for their child & coordinate a treatment plan. Sometimes parents seek counseling for their child after a specific traumatic event including accidents, fires, the death of a loved one or exposure to abuse. In this case, a trained play therapist can assist the child in processing the memories & working towards closure & healing.

Teens

Many parents have concerns about their teen’s behavior. Young adults face a myriad of stressors from academic pressure to decisions about drugs, alcohol &  intimate relationships. Therapy can help these young people learn about healthy ways to handle whatever comes their way. In addition, therapy is a helpful intervention for issues with social relationships, sexual identity confusion, dating, addiction, depression, suicide, pregnancy, sibling rivalry, truancy, bullying & more.

Survivors of Abuse

Interpersonal, family or intimate partner violence is also a reason that many seek therapy.  Whether emotional, physical, verbal, financial or sexual abuse originated in your family of origin, became present in current life or both, abusive patterns of behavior are damaging to everyone involved. These issues can often be exacerbated by the presence of a drug/alcohol addiction or mental illness. Recognizing abuse is the first step towards getting help.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is an essential part of any clinical relationship & all aspects of our work, from the scheduling & content of our sessions to the records I keep, are confidential as prescribed by ethical guidelines & federal & state laws both during & after your treatment. More specific information on what is protected & how I manage your confidential & protected information is available for your review in detail on my informed consent paperwork.
